Obama Is Making His Way Home

President Elect Obama with family and Vice-President Elect Biden are making there way to DC.  Obama just finished speaking to a population of over 40,000 people in Baltimore.   Having started out in Philadelphia this cold day it was evident that the people want to be as up close and personal as they can with the president.  Many stood for ours waiting for the train that would carry President Elect Obama to DC. 

Some events for today taking place are People’s Inaugural Gala Celebration at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, a concert with Mary J. Blige, Common and Nelly at the club Ibiza.  There will be a significant amount of activity in the usually busy DC area over the next few days leading up to President Elect Obama being sworn in.

Obama Speaks Out

President elect Obama has finally and hopefully satisfied the media by making a statement about Governor Blagojevich’s appointment of former attorney general Roland Burris. 

As most have pointed out in the news Mr. Burris has good qualities that support not questioning his character based on the governor’s troubles.  However, Obama is standing behind the democrats decision last week to not accept appointments made by the governor of Illinois.  Sad for the people of Illinois that this matter can not be resolved sooner than later.  A governor who can no longer affectively serve the state when economic crisis requires strong decision makers at every level of government in the country.  Just what the people need another excuse for why their needs will not be met.

Ill. Governor Blagojevich Senate Pick

Watching the news today it did not come as a surprise that Illinois Governor Blagojevich tried to get one up by appointing a successor to President-Elect Obama’s vacant senate seat.  Legally it appears that since Blagojevich has not been charged with a crime he has the authority to appoint former Illinois attorney general Roland Burris.  Listening to Mr. Burris on MSNBC he made good points that he has the credentials to do the job, but the big question is will he be able to affectively representative the Illinois people with the stigma of having been appointed by Governor Blagojevich over his head.

 

            Another question that came to mind was did it help or hurt to have Representative Bobby Rush speaking up on behalf of the appointment.  Yes Rep. Rush has accomplished enough and some might say he has overcome the negative views of his past history with the Black Panthers.  However, with the media grasping for every bit of tidbits to hype up the news this might have not been the best person to have as an advocate bringing up the lack of African American representation in the U.S. Senate or that Mr. Burris being black as another possible issue to being held back from the appointment.  When it is all said and done what bothers me the most is that no matter how minor or brief it is brought up the media continues to make statements that Obama should be saying more.  My view do your job like you always have to juice up your daily news reports you don’t need Obama to enter the picture so you can capture an audience.

End of the Year Rap Up Happy New Year!

Let me see if I can sum up my year with social and internet marketing.  I have met a lot of people most of whom understand I don’t enjoy being spammed, however there are so many who could not have  possibly read my profile page otherwise they would know that I do not want to sit on the computer all day surfing to earn .5 credits to get a hit to my site; they would know that I would better benefit from products that would complement my business.

That is what you were thinking about me.  My profile is filled with information about me and this is what you came up with.  Do me a favor stop thinking about me.

 

I have in the past four weeks received at least six promises to help me get rich earning at least 1 million in the next 30 days.  Really, how come you can’t show me how to make the 20 million you claim to have made with your unrivaled internet marketing techniques in 30 days or less?  Yeah, sure did you think 1M would sound like a more realistic goal to me as a newbie.  With just two of the emails I received the two guys alone good solve the problem of world hunger based on their earnings selling ebooks on line.

 

Then you have those who solicit you with free software and ebooks.  I love free don’t you I mean really lets go peek and find what’s free.  Thank you to the people who take you to the free product directly and don’t hold you hostage for 10 minutes with the up sell.  There was one guy who actually implied that you would be a jerk to not take him up on his deal.  I don’t know who mentored him on that method of attracting business.  It would be scary if it works.  That means there are some real jerks who bought his product now out there selling their internet marketing products to others and probably trying to one up the previous guy by finding a more insulting name than jerk to call potential customers.

 

Luckily I have found few genuine serious successful internet-marketing gurus that I am reaching out to in order to find out more information.  I want to make the right choice.  I thank those who have so freely given out genuine informative free products understanding that we can’t keep what we have if we don’t give something away.  You can never go wrong helping someone.   I appreciate all the new business associates I have met in the social networks I have joined.  You can find me on Myspace, Facebook, Living Large with Style.ning.com

Birthdays Can Mean More Than You Think

Well with my birthday due in 9 days it was such a coincidence, or maybe not that on one of my favorite social networks there was a link to <a href=”http://www.paulsadowski.com/BirthDay.asp”>http://www.paulsadowski.com/BirthDay.asp</a>. On this site you can enter your birth date and obtain a lot of information regarding what was going on the day you were born and what significant numbers apply to your date of birth. I must confess I thought ooh! possible <a href=”http://www.megamillions.com/”>Mega Million</a> numbers.

There was an interesting quote, “A scholars ink lasts longer than a martyr’s blood.” (author unknown). I had another bright thought, ‘Its ok for me to say no to those who have been jumping on my shoulders and staying there.” What a relief to know I do not have to be the Plan A for many in my life.

Holiday Excitement

Today is Christmas and you would think I would be busy with family.  However, the weather conditions in some areas has prevented some family members from making it to Virginia.  It is nice and warm here not white Christmas for us.  No matter there is enough warmth and joy going on and the smell of all my favorite dishes my mother is making. 

It was so nice to see all the holiday post on the different networks I am a member of wishing me a wonderful holiday.  Refreshing to read instead of all the sales pitches.  Well I will be rejoining my family now and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Hope Diamond

 

 

I love diamonds and that is one of the reasons I decided to sell them as well as wear them.  If you haven’t noticed the name of my company is Diamondistrict Design and the name came about due to not only the products I sell, but the fact that I find diamonds fascinating.  As my love for diamonds grew I began to research the history of particular diamonds I had heard about for years. I am talking about the out of my reach astounding gems.

 

Have you ever heard of the Hope diamond.  If not let me fill you in on the beauty of this rare expensive gem.  The Hope diamond is 45.52 carats in a lovely shade of blue on display in the Smithsonian Institute.  Another interesting point about this diamond is that it is said to be cursed.  This was based on the bad luck that fell on the gentleman who discovered this priceless gem.

 

As large as the Hope diamond is when it was purchased by a French merchant Jean Baptiste Tavernier.  Tavernier sold the diamond to King Louis XIV who had it cut and it was then called the “Blue Diamond of the Crown”.  When King Louis XIV lost his control of France in 1791 all of the royal jewels were seized by the government.  Not too long after that the Hope diamond was stolen.  Stories report that the diamond passed through a few owners who purchased the diamond.

 

In the 1900’s the diamond appeared at Cartier’s in Paris and was sold to a Mrs. McLean from Washington, DC.  Upon Mrs. McLean’s death Harry Winston, Inc. of New York City purchased the estate which included the lovely Hope diamond.  In the year 1958 Harry Winston, Inc. donated the diamond to the Smithsonian Institute and it has been displayed there ever since.

 

The Hope diamond rarely leaves the Smithsonian except for special exhibitions and to be cleaned by Harry Winston, Inc.  I would love to get a close up in person look at this exquisite example of why diamonds are a girls best friend.

I have been fortunate to find a very talented woman Tina who worked on my website Living Large with Style with the artistic ability of Picasso.  She is creative and patient and listened to what was important to me.  I have received so many compliants and I owe it all to Tina.  I gave her my vision and she brought it to fruition.  I admire people with artistic ability and included in my list are those who have the knowledge and ability to create stunning web designs.  Tina also can take any picture you give her and turn it into a work of art by framing it with astonishing designs.  I visit her ning network to see what is new often and I am never dissapointed in her presentations.  Backgrounds, banners you name it Tina is on the money.  The best part is she is affordable.  I am showing off some of Tina’s work and you know I have got to show you what she did for my site.
